Hello there! As the title says we are back! Did you miss us? We missed you. Strictly a platonic missing between friends of course. We don't want you to think we are pushing to take that next big step in our podcaster/audience relationship... That is unless you think we are ready? Because we're game if you are. If so, let's take this sucker to the next level.
We have big things coming down the pipe. Big super, secret stuff (not really). During our break we looked at what was working and what wasn't with Pop Culture Radio, and what we could do to fix it. First thing we noticed was this had become a movie review podcast. Movie reviews are all well and good once in a while, but that was not the reason this podcast was created. Why was the podcast created? To talk about those geeky things we love, or in some cases love to hate. And what do we love, or love to hate more than anything? Comics.
We are going to streamline our focus back to comics. Some stuff you will see in future podcasts will be more comics news and discussion. Lists of things we want to see more or less of, or characters and teams that don't get their due. You will still see the occasional movie podcast, but chances are that it will be because it is a comics related movie (IE: Iron Man 3, Man of Steel, Thor 2, etc), or the movie just simply knocked our socks off so that they flew across the room and landed perfectly folded in our underwear drawer (or some other such improbably scenario or location).
Now does this mean there won’t be anymore non-comics related ramblings? No, but it will be most likely be toned down quite a bit.
Which brings me to the next big step we are taking with the podcast. Interviews. We are going to try and get more interviews with writers and artists, the people who are working and making the comics we are reading right now. Dig in, find out what makes them tick, why they make some of the decisions they do, and what it's like working in today's comics market full of sales numbers doom and gloom.
